The video in the article, "What's going on in Ukraine," is about the Ukraine conflict which started around 2004, when the Ukrainian President was taken out of power and other governments were implemented, which caused the citizens of Ukraine to feel disenfranchised. Furthermore, with all the governmental change, separatists and citizens went into action by holding riots and causing a lot of disruption in Ukraine. The Ukraine government was slow to respond and now they don't have enough military power to fight the separatists, who are being backed my Russia.
The Ukraine conflict is very similar to the Cold War because in the Cold War, the U.S and Russia had a conflict but were not doing anything. In comparison to the Cold War, the Ukrainian Conflict is also silent, although there are intense conflicts between the nations. As many know the Cold War may not have been very destructive; however at one point the entire atmosphere of the globe could have been changed. Therefore, although there isn't much conflict right now, nations should know that a war can arise.
The Ukraine conflict is a type of conflict that is seen all over the world and occurs in many areas, where conflicts arise because of opposing sides not coming to an agreement. An example of this conflict is seen in the New Arab Cold War, where 2 powers in the middle east are not coming to an agreement, just like in Ukraine. As a result, these situations are very important and need to be taken care of because they can cause large scale conflicts across the globe which then can develop into wars.
